Mostar

Via Ferrata Podružje — Ilirski Put (Mostar)

An unusual via ferrata that follows the Podružje canyon above Mostar, at points running right along the riverbed itself. One of the easier routes in the region and a good choice for a first via ferrata, but best avoided after heavy rain, when the canyon can flood.

Is this tour right for you?

Best for

Via ferrata beginners, since the route does not require prior climbing experience. Nature lovers drawn to the unusual canyon and riverbed setting. Groups looking for a longer half-day outing near Mostar.

Not ideal for

Anyone visiting after heavy rainfall, when the canyon can flood. People with a severe fear of heights or limited mobility on uneven ground.

Guide advice

Bring gloves, since sections of the cable run close to the water. Check recent weather with your guide — the route is not recommended after heavy rain. Allow a half day: the approach, climb and return together take several hours.
